It’s irritating to continuously receive a dam Facebook app invites from friends to play Candy Crush Saga, Despicable Me: Minion Rush, Sweepstakes, and all the other apparently popular apps you have no interest in using. It’s likely that you’ve become very tired of seeing all of those annoying Facebook app invites in your timeline. Fortunately, you can get rid of them permanently. Here’s how to do it.
How to block Facebook app or block Facebook app invites from your settings:
- Click in the gear icon at the top right corner of any Facebook page and select ‘Account Settings’.
- Click Blocking in the left column.
- Look for the header Block apps and enter the app name.
Apps you’ve already blocked will appear here as well. You can unblock them by clicking unblock to the right of their name.
If you received a request for an app and you want to block the app:
- Go to the App Center
- Click X next to the request
- Click the Block [App Name] link > Confirm
When you block Facebook apps under Blocking, you also have options to block other stuffs like you can block a user, block invites, block event invites and the apps. See Image below:
Some app may have kept your info from when you used it even after you did ‘Block Facebook app’. If you have already given an app all your details like email ID then the app owner can always send you emails even after removing authorization for the app in the App Center on your app settings. Once you Block Facebook app, you will no longer get any requests, email from the blocked app or they cannot even access any information about you unless you make it public. You always have an option to unsubscribe from the app entirely at the bottom of the email that app sends. You can contact the app directly to request that they delete any info they may still have.
